Online retailer Bobbie receives money from the construction industry

The building materials start-up now wants to intensify its cooperation with key players in the sector. Its partners already include 200 manufacturers.
The digital building materials retailer Bobbie has announced a new seven-figure financing round. The money comes mainly from the construction industry itself. "This financing should be seen as a turning point and a strong signal from customers to finally bring the building materials trade into the digital age," explained Alexander Gran, co-founder of Bobbie.
The money comes from BAMAKA AG, the largest purchasing company in the German construction industry, as well as from the Swiss building materials retailer HG Commerciale and the construction IT company BRZ. Bobbie has already been working with BAMAKA for several years and now the cooperation is being intensified, as both sides explained.
Craftsmen, building contractors and end customers can purchase building materials digitally from Bobbie. Bobbie also supplies construction sites throughout Germany with the purchases. According to the company, it has agreed partnerships with a total of 200 manufacturers. The start-up, which was founded in 2017 and is based in Aachen and Munich, and its partners want to use the new capital to further advance the digitalization of the construction industry.
