Payman Supervizer leaves KPMG and founds start-up

With Votebase, the hacker wants to digitize the Bundestag elections.

Payman Supervizer is leaving KPMG Consulting to focus entirely on his start-up Votebase, which he founded in 2021. His goal is to increase the transparency of democracy for citizens by digitizing the Bundestag elections with the blockchain-based technology he invented, "Die Wahl App".

Before working for the consultancy, the 30-year-old worked as a freelancer in hacking teams for listed IT companies in the USA and was responsible for penetration testing and vulnerability management. The cybersecurity expert has big goals with his Bergisch Gladbach-based start-up.

According to the two founders, the digitalization of elections is an important step towards promoting democracy. Their specially developed technology, the "Die Wahl App", aims to make elections more accessible to everyone and reduce the susceptibility to errors in analog processes during the counting process. Digital voting, on the other hand, preserves complete anonymity. Blockchain technology makes it difficult to forge documents or manipulate data.

"Democracy is such a valuable asset. We are convinced that digitizing elections would increase voter turnout as it is easier and more efficient to conduct. The transparency of the processes and absolute data security will increase the credibility of elections and citizens will be better able to identify with the results," explains Supervizer.
