Immunkarte founder launches new company

A loyalty program with e-coupons is designed to help pharmacies retain customers and acquire new ones. They only pay when customers use the service.
Founder Tamim Al-Marie recently attracted attention with his start-up Immunkarte, which printed a vaccination QR code on a plastic card of the same name for 5.5 million people. He had built up a network of 10,000 pharmacies that distributed his cards. Back in February, he announced in a that he intended to use this network for other projects. Most recently, he founded his second pharmaceutical start-up, Blue. He now explains that 2,500 pharmacies are already using its services.
Blue offers individual local pharmacies their own loyalty program. It will later consist of various components, starting with e-coupons. "Couponing gives local pharmacies a fair chance against foreign mail-order companies and opens up completely new opportunities for customer loyalty and new customer acquisition," hopes Al-Marie.
The aim of his start-up is to network and digitalize pharmacies, most of which operate as lone wolves. "Our experience with the Immunkarte and local pharmacies has shown us that - contrary to rumours - pharmacies are on the path to digitalization and in the midst of transformation," says the founder. Pharmacies only incur costs when the products are used by the end consumer. Al-Marie says: "You only pay if the service works."
