Synbiotic launches CBD without hemp on the market

The start-up extracts the cannabinoids from hops, among other things. This should allow the CBD products to be sold in countries that prohibit hemp.
Smoking weed without hemp - Synbiotic has announced the launch of a CBD product that does not require any hemp at all. The Munich-based start-up promises that "CBDplus" will also be many times more effective. CBD - not to be confused with the intoxicating and banned THC - is extracted from other cannabinoid and terpene-containing plants such as hops. "Preparations for the product launch are nearing completion," says Lars Müller, CEO of Synbiotic. "This makes us the first company in the industry worldwide to offer a real alternative to conventional CBD extracts." This means that CBD can also be sold in countries that previously banned hemp products or made it difficult to sell them, for example in China, Japan or Turkey.
Another reason for the success is the investment in NeuroTheryX, a Canadian company that researches the mechanisms of action and relationships behind cannabinoids such as CBD or THC and their essential oils. Synbiotic has subscribed to a convertible bond of the company in the amount of two million euros, with the option to convert it into 13.33 percent of the company's shares and subsequently acquire them outright. "CBDPlus is the first spectacular result of this collaboration," says Müller. NeuroTheryX has already examined more than 100 plants, with more to follow and expand the product range.
