AI startup Guardian Technologies secures six-figure funding

The Munich-based start-up receives money from two business angels. Now the market launch is imminent.

Fire protection start-up Guardian Technologies has raised a second round of six-figure financing. The money comes from Lars Müller and Hubert Deutsch. Müller has already invested, he heads Synbiotic, the first publicly traded cannabis company in Germany. He is also head of his investment company Doinglean Ventures. Deutsch was formerly chief financial officer at home appliance maker Liebherr.

"In order to ensure rapid growth for our mission, we've raised funding and are grateful to our two investors for their trust and look forward to our time together," said Jack-Leonard Bolz-Mendel, founder of Guardian Technologies. His start-up makes fire extinguishing systems that use artificial intelligence to detect fires early and extinguish them in a targeted manner. The start-up was founded last year.

The money will be used to enter the market. Until then, the system still needs to be completed and certified, and a distribution network needs to be established. "The market has needed a breath of fresh air, a lot of time has passed since the last real innovation in fire protection and I firmly believe that Guardian Technologies will continue to grow with the product launch of the systems," says business angel Müller.
