New sports trends and media coverage are helping the fitness company and obviously supporting growth. One broadcaster is benefiting.

According to its own data, the sports start-up Urban Sports Club was able to increase its number of members by 51 percent from June 2021 to June 2022. This was probably helped by the entry of ProSiebenSat.1; the broadcaster had invested in the start-up in 2021 and granted it a lot of advertising time on its own platforms.

With more than 50 sports, Urban Sports Club offers online courses as well as face-to-face courses and has 10,000 locations in six European countries. According to the startup, a number of new fitness trends were developing in New York, which should encourage hybrid work models and more individualization. Trail running and indoor cycling, for example, are among the new sports trends. Urban Sports Club said it adapted to these trends and increased demand by expanding its live online and on-demand classes. "It is our goal to get even more people back into the studios via the flexible Urban Sports Club membership and thus further promote health. Together with ProSiebenSat.1 as a partner, we want to get especially those who are not yet active excited about sports and wellness," says Moritz Kreppel, CEO and co-founder of Urban Sports Club.
