Sono Motors appoints Arnd Schwierholz to the Supervisory Board

Schwierholz has experience in the financial and mobility sectors. He will sit on the supervisory board until at least 2026.

At the Annual General Meeting in Amsterdam, Sono Motors reviewed the financial year that is now coming to an end and announced a new appointment: Arnd Schwierholz will sit on the company's Supervisory Board at least until the Annual Shareholders' Meeting in 2026.

Schwierholz is a consultant and partner at Iconical, an investor in technology companies. He is also a board member at Starship Technologies. Until 2021, he was Chief Financial Officer at Flixbus, and previously held senior positions at the airlines Airberlin and Lufthansa. "With Arnd, we have a proven and extremely experienced professional on the Supervisory Board who has extraordinary expertise in the areas of mobility and finance," says Sono Motors co-founder and CEO Jona Christians. "We are truly excited to have him join us as we continue to build Sono Motors' leadership as a forward-thinking solar mobility company."

For the third quarter of 2022, Sono Motors saw a six-fold increase in revenue from its Sono Solar and Sono Digital divisions compared to the previous quarter. Sono Motors also secured 13 new international partners in the past twelve months. Nevertheless, the company has run into trouble: Sono Motors needs 3,500 more reservations to finance its "Sion" solar car. If the "Save Sion" campaign is unsuccessful, the project will be abandoned.
