Xayn restructures management team

The Berlin-based company is getting a human resources manager at board level. A proven start-up expert is also joining the company.

The Berlin-based start-up Xayn has made two changes to its management team. Beatrice Kahl, who was previously Head of HR, has now been promoted internally to Chief People Officer. Before joining Xayn, the HR specialist worked for management consultants Deloitte and Deutsche Telekom, among others. Ruth Rothmaler is a newcomer to the start-up. She will be Chief Product & Design Officer. Rothmaler can look back on almost 15 years of professional experience in the start-up world. Among other things, she was second employee at Delivery Hero.

"The new appointments fill us with pride: two recognized experts in their field enrich the top management team and will drive Xayn forward with their professional acumen and leadership skills," says Leif-Nissen Lundbæk, co-founder and CEO. "In addition, we are pleased that this will also allow us to take important steps toward greater diversity." The second management tier already has equal representation, he says, and now a change is taking place at the top level as well.

Xayn has developed what it claims is a privacy-friendly search engine. It provides users with personalized search results and a curated news stream, without advertising or data storage. The AI company began as a research project at the University of Oxford and Imperial College London by Leif-Nissen Lundbæk and Michael Huth. Together with Felix Hahmann, they founded the tech company in Berlin in 2017.
