Xentral raises $75 million

The Augsburg-based start-up gets the money for its expansion. Only in January, the young company had closed a financing round.

Meritech and Tiger Global are investing 75 million US dollars, the equivalent of more than 60 million euros, in Xentral. Frank Thelen, Christian Reber and Sequoia had already previously invested in Benedikt and Claudia Sauter's company. Among others, Celonis co-CEO Bastian Nominacher, whose company is now Unicorn, is also on board as an angel investor.

Founded in 2015, the software start-up Xentral specializes in small and medium-sized enterprises. Xentral offers them programs that digitize and automate operational processes in warehousing or accounting. Initially, Claudia and Benedikt Sauter financed their company from their own resources. With the new investors, the business is now set to expand rapidly.

Among other things, the plan is to improve the user-friendliness of the software. In addition, Xentral would like to expand its own app store and also become more international. It has picked the UK as the first country for expansion, where the product launch should take place soon.

"I see many parallels to our path with Celonis," says Bastian Nominacher. "The basis of process mining and the Celonis EMS is that business processes are digitized in the first place. I see tremendous value for SMBs in integrating and automating their business processes in a digital tool, laying the foundation for a new world of data-driven processes."
