Ankorstore raises 250 million euros

The start-up has also been operating in Germany since last year and is now a unicorn: with the current financing round of 250 million euros, Ankorstore is worth 1.75 billion euros.
Ankorstore has also had a branch in Germany since 2021, and now the French start-up has reached the billion-euro mark: the current financing round of 250 million euros gives Ankorstore unicorn status and a valuation of 1.75 billion euros. The money comes from investors Bond and Tiger Global, along with Eurazeo and Coatue as well as all existing investors such as Index Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, GFC, Alven and Aglae. In 2022, Spain and Italy will be added to the 23 countries in which Ankorstore already operates.
"This financing will enable us to expand geographically and accelerate our activities in our core European markets," says Nicolas Cohen, Co-CEO of the start-up. As a wholesale marketplace, Ankorstore offers 200,000 retailers a place to sell their products; the company currently employs 400 people. 31 employees work for Ankorstore from Berlin, and the financing will be used to hire additional talent, Country Manager Constantin Langholz told Manager Magazin.
"Our mission is to create a global wholesale business and thus strengthen independent retailers," says Cohen. He founded the company together with Pierre-Louis Lacoste, Nicolas d'Audiffret and Mathieu Alengrin in 2019.
