1 million euros pre-seed financing for ENVIOTECH

The young start-up ENVIOTECH has successfully completed a pre-seed financing round of over one million euros. The round was led by Jürgen Fitschen. Other investors include Joachim Drees, Alexander Eyhorn and Danilo Jovicic-Albrecht.

Founded for personal reasons

The idea for ENVIOTECH goes back to a formative experience of co-founder Adrian Rhaese. After a close friend had an accident in the dark due to street lighting being switched off, he asked himself why cities were cutting back on safety when energy costs were rising.

Together with co-founder Linh Pham, who ventured into entrepreneurship again after her time at Deutsche Bank, he then developed a new idea.

Technology for efficient and safe cities

ENVIOTECH relies on retrofit technology that allows existing streetlights to be modernized in less than 15 minutes. This is done without replacing the masts or extensive civil engineering work. The benefits: up to 80 percent lower energy consumption, lower costs for local authorities and greater safety in public spaces.

The start-up received early support from EWOR's Fellowship Program. Its founder and CEO Daniel W. Dippold emphasizes the special motivation of the founding team: instead of following trends, ENVIOTECH focuses on specific problems that are often overlooked.

Smart city rethought

For ENVIOTECH, the term smart city is not just a buzzword, but a functioning infrastructure that improves people's everyday lives in a tangible way. The company intends to use the fresh capital to further develop its technology and scale it up in cities.
