Enginsight aims to become a major European player in the cybersecurity market. To that end, the Jena-based company is securing a double-digit million amount from Verdane.

The Jena-based cybersecurity company Enginsight has gained a new growth partner in Verdane. The European technology investor is investing a double-digit million amount and will become the largest shareholder. With this fresh capital, Enginsight plans to expand its partner network, tap into new European markets, and strengthen its position as a provider of “Made in Germany” cybersecurity solutions.

Cyberattacks have long been part of everyday life for companies and public institutions. At the same time, IT infrastructures are becoming increasingly complex, and regulatory requirements are rising. Small and medium-sized enterprises, municipalities, and hospitals, in particular, face the challenge of comprehensively securing their systems without being able to build large in-house security teams.

This is where Enginsight, founded in Jena in 2017, comes in. The founders—Mario Jandeck, Eric Range, and Max Tarantik—have developed a platform that brings together various areas of IT security into a single, centralized solution. This includes vulnerability detection, IT system monitoring, the identification of potential attacks, and automated protective measures.

Verdane, a European growth capital investor, is now coming on board to support the company’s further development. Existing investors UVC, HDI, and SIV (SI Ventures) are also participating in the funding round. Upon its completion, Verdane will become the largest shareholder. The exact investment amount has not been disclosed.

More than 750 customers and a growing partner network

Since its founding, Enginsight has established itself particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises and public institutions. According to the company, it now serves more than 750 customers and employs over 80 people.

Indirect sales play a key role in this. More than 250 active partners distribute the security solutions, including numerous IT service providers and managed service providers. Enginsight is seeing rising demand, particularly from municipalities, hospitals, and universities.

A key selling point is that the software is developed in Germany. Public institutions and companies in regulated industries, in particular, are placing increasing importance on being able to manage their IT security independently of non-European providers. Added to this is the ability to operate security solutions within their own infrastructure.

Regulatory developments, such as the European NIS2 Directive, are also increasing the pressure to act. Companies and public organizations must engage more intensively with cyber risks, security processes, and legal requirements.

European Expansion and Targeted Acquisitions Planned

With Verdane’s investment, Enginsight is entering its next phase of growth. The focus is on expanding the existing sales partner network and tapping into additional European markets.

In addition, the company plans to further establish its offerings in the areas of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) among existing customers. These solutions help organizations analyze security-related events and respond to threats.

Targeted acquisitions are another key component of the growth strategy. Together with Verdane, Enginsight aims to expand beyond the DACH region and build a European cybersecurity platform over the long term. The company will also receive support from the investor’s operational expert team, Elevate.

For co-founder and CEO Mario Jandeck, the partnership represents an important step. In Verdane, the company has found an investor that understands both the cybersecurity market and the development of partner-based sales structures.

At the same time, the financing demonstrates that European cybersecurity providers remain attractive to growth capital investors. Whether Enginsight can also expand its position internationally will depend largely on how successfully the company scales its partner business and taps into new markets.
