160 million US dollar investment makes Sennder a Unicorn

The logistics start-up Sennder has completed its Series D financing round. This makes it a unicorn.
The Berlin-based start-up Sennder receives 160 million US dollars. New investors in the Series D financing are Accel, Lakestar, HV Capital, Project A and Scania. "All existing investors continue to support Sennder, reaffirming their confidence in the company's business model and direction," reads a statement from the company.
The logistics start-up thus exceeds the billion-euro valuation and can now call itself Unicorn. "I am very proud that Sennder's mission and vision has now become a reality," says CEO and co-founder David Nothacker. "We are now an established industry player and on a par with traditional companies in the logistics sector."
Sennder was founded in 2015 and offers an all-inclusive program for logistics companies. Among other things, software optimizes the routes of the vehicles. Up to 10,000 trucks are on the road for Sennder and 800 employees work for the start-up. Ten of the German DAX30 companies use Sennder's service.
100 million US dollars are to be invested in the further development of the technology and in growth, while Sennder intends to spend the remaining 60 million US dollars on rapid expansion.
