1Comma5 buys again

The 200 million euro start-up is acquiring a stake in another long-established company in order to expand its heat pump business.

The start-up 1Komma5 is making a strategic investment and acquiring a stake in Gerhard Liedtke GmbH, based in Hildesheim, a company specializing in heat pumps and photovoltaic systems. This was reported by PV-Magazin with reference to the company. The amount of the investment is not yet known. This is the climate start-up's thirteenth investment to date.

The company was founded by Philipp Schröder, Micha Grüber and Jannik Schall only around a year ago, but has already raised 200 million euros from well-known investors, including Porsche Ventures and Btov Partners. The start-up focuses on investing in smaller electrical businesses and connecting them to its network and platform. The companies then install solar systems, electricity storage systems, heat pumps and charging infrastructure at the start-up's customers' premises.

"For us, this entry is a very important step towards keeping our promise of being able to offer all CO2-neutral technologies for electricity, heat and mobility in buildings from a single source," says Philipp Schröder, CEO of 1Komma5. "By joining the company, we now want to expand the business significantly together and thus also enable our locations in Göttingen, Lingen, Münster, Lüneburg, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Berlin, Potsdam and Bremen to offer heat pumps in their region, while we further strengthen our offering for NRW from Remscheid," says Schröder.
