Anonos buys Statice

The U.S. data protection company aims to expand its platform with the acquisition of the Berlin-based fintech.
U.S. data protection company Anonos is acquiring Berlin-based fintech Statice. The companies did not disclose financial details of the Statice acquisition. Statice co-founders Omar Ali Fdal and Mikhail Dyakov will become members of the Anonos leadership team. All 23 employees of the Berlin-based startup are to be retained. As a result, Anonos now employs 65 people, most of them in Europe.
"Statice and Anonos share a common goal of helping companies use more of their data assets," says Ted Myerson, co-CEO and president of Anonos. The U.S.-based company offers technology to encrypt data in use. Through Statice, Anonos aims to make its platform more comprehensive.
Statice is based in Berlin and was founded in 2017. The startup says it develops privacy technologies to help companies drive data-driven innovation while protecting individual privacy. Using Statice's software, companies could generate privacy-compliant synthetic data for any type of data integration, processing and dissemination.
