ARTEM receives € 1.5 million in seed financing

Cham, Switzerland, December 12, 2024 - ARTEM, a B2B startup from Switzerland, has successfully closed a seed funding round of 1.5 million euros. The round was led by Vireo Ventures, a venture capital firm in the field of climate technology. The financing round will be used to further develop ARTEM's software and hardware solutions that help companies meet the requirements of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and support the transition to net zero production.
CBAM from 2026
The EU will introduce the CBAM from the first quarter of 2026, requiring importers of products such as cement, steel, aluminium, fertilizers and hydrogen to report CO2 emissions and purchase CBAM allowances. This new regulation poses significant challenges for companies in terms of monitoring and validating emissions data in their supply chains. To address these challenges, ARTEM offers an integrated solution of software and hardware that enables companies to collect primary emissions data from producers outside the EU and prepare it for CBAM reporting.
The expansion of the global market for carbon pricing and emissions trading schemes is challenging companies to find a compliance solution that meets the specific needs of their industry. With our platform, we enable companies to collect, validate and report realistic emissions data.
