Carina Kozole becomes Chief Risk Officer at N26

N26 appoints Carina Kozole as its new Chief Risk Officer and Managing Director. She will take up her role later this year and lead the digital bank's risk management.

Berlin - Carina Kozole has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry at UniCredit Group. Her focus has been on risk management in lending, risk control, and corporate and investment banking. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Credit Risk Operations at HypoVereinsbank - UniCredit Bank AG in Germany.

The position of Chief Risk Officer was previously held by Jan Stechele on an interim basis since April 2023. He will remain with the company as a member of the Executive Board and will work closely with Carina Kozole on topics such as anti-money laundering and compliance.

Carina Kozole has extensive experience working with financial regulators in Europe, Asia and the US. She is also an advocate for diversity, fairness and inclusion, and supports digitalization in banking with a focus on artificial intelligence, data governance and meta-leadership.

Against the backdrop of increasing and evolving regulatory requirements within the industry, she will be able to make valuable contributions at N26.
