Clue raises €7 million in a funding round led by Balderton Capital and Union Square Ventures. A first community investment round is planned for faster product development.

Berlin-based startup Clue has raised €7 million in a recent funding round. The funds will be used to scale its digital family planning offering, expand its product portfolio and continue research to close the gender data gap.

Despite making up half of the world's population, the most common female health problems remain unrecognized, under-researched and under-treated.

Audrey Tsang, co-CEO of Clue

Clue has developed an app to help women better understand their menstrual cycle and learn more about their reproductive health. The app offers basic period tracking features for free, while the premium subscription provides subscribers with additional evidence-based features and advanced insights. The software also offers a "Clue Conceive" mode that guides users on their journey to conception.

Crowdinvesting

Clue plans to offer crowdinvesting through Crowdcube for the first time. The aim is to involve the community more closely in the product development process and give them the chance to participate in the future success of the company. Clue user:s will have the opportunity to participate from April 18, 2023, before crowdfunding becomes generally available. The investment program is available to any female participant in the UK and EU.

The startup, which focuses on women's health and family planning, currently has more than 11 million user:ins in 190 countries. The company is focused on scaling its digital tools and expanding its product portfolio to become a comprehensive companion for everyday life. In addition, Clue will continue to work to close the gender data gap and publish studies on reproductive health.

Thus, an investment is not only an opportunity to build a strong and sustainable company, but also to drive overdue social change.
