Hg and Anthropic are jointly investing in a new AI company for Europe. Based on Claude, the company aims to help businesses transition artificial intelligence from pilot projects to full-scale production.

Technology investor Hg and AI company Anthropic are participating in the financing of a new company aimed at driving the AI transformation of European firms. The focus is on the practical application of artificial intelligence based on the Claude AI model. The company is set to officially launch later this year and will help European companies integrate AI technologies more deeply into their business processes and products.

For many European companies, the use of artificial intelligence has long since become a strategic issue. While numerous companies are already testing initial AI applications, transitioning them into productive operation often remains a challenge. This is precisely where a new company—whose funding was announced by the British technology investor Hg on November 3, 2026—aims to make a difference.

This builds on Hg’s early conviction in the transformational power of AI. We’re delighted to announce our investment in this new company and look forward to further advancing Europe’s position within the global AI ecosystem.

In addition to Hg, the U.S.-based AI company Anthropic is also participating in the financing, along with several angel investors. The parties involved have not yet disclosed details regarding the investment amount or the valuation of the new company.

The company is set to be officially founded and launched on the market in 2026. A name has not yet been announced. The plan is to establish an independent company specializing in the practical implementation of AI projects and the development of AI-based products.

From AI Pilot Projects to Measurable Business Results

Many companies are currently experimenting with generative AI, but not every pilot project leads to measurable improvements in day-to-day operations. The new company therefore intends to pursue an approach that goes beyond simply providing AI technology.

The planned solutions will be based on Claude, Anthropic’s AI model. In addition, specialized engineering teams will work directly with customers. This model, known as “Forward Deployed Engineering,” makes it possible to integrate AI applications directly into existing business processes and adapt them to individual requirements.

Businesses are looking for experienced teams to help them put Claude to work. We’re proud to invest in companies like this as they grow to meet that need.

Steve Corfield, Head of Global Business Development and Partnerships at Anthropic

This is not just about automating workflows. Rather, the goal is to enable companies to develop their own AI-based products and further refine existing business models.

This approach is particularly appealing to companies that possess extensive industry knowledge, proprietary technologies, and established customer relationships. By integrating artificial intelligence, they could build on existing competitive advantages and tap into new business areas.

Europe as a Standalone Market for AI Transformation

The founders see great potential in the European market in particular. Unlike in the U.S., companies here must take into account numerous different languages, national market conditions, and regulatory requirements.

The new company is therefore intended to specifically address these unique characteristics and support European organizations in the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.

For Hg, the investment is part of a broader strategy to further establish AI technologies within companies. According to its own figures, the investor manages more than $110 billion and holds stakes in approximately 60 companies. This gives Hg an extensive network of potential customers and partners.

The investment is also strategically significant for Anthropic. It will enable the company to advance the adoption of its AI model, Claude, in the European enterprise market.

Steve Corfield, who is responsible for global business development and partnerships at Anthropic, emphasizes that companies are increasingly seeking experienced teams to support them in the practical implementation of Claude.

Important questions remain unanswered. In addition to the name and the specific funding amount, details regarding management, location, and initial customers are still missing.

Nevertheless, the planned launch highlights a trend. In the European AI market, business models are increasingly emerging that do not rely on developing their own base models, but rather on integrating them into existing companies. In the future, what matters most will likely be not whether companies use AI, but how successfully they generate economic value from it.
