Digitalstage.io apparently lands six-figure investments
The startup has also secured a spot in an accelerator program, according to a media report. The platform relies on live streams, digital fan events, album and merch sales - and even fan NFTs.
Berlin-based start-up Digitalstage.io has received a six-figure sum in a seed funding round. The money came from investment fund Flori Ventures, the website Music Week reports. Exigo Capital, Well Made Ventures and Swabia Invest are also among the investors. In addition, the company was accepted into the Celo Camp accelerator program, according to the report.
Digitalstage.io was founded in 2020 by former Shazam Germany boss Richard Harless. Basically, it's a platform that aims to connect musicians and their fans through live digital experiences. So there are live streams or digital fan events there. In addition, albums or merchandise can be purchased online.
Digitalstage.io is also attracting attention with the distribution of collectibles via blockchain NFTs. This positions the company in a field that could still play a major role in the music market in the future. For example, in the context of the K-pop music market, there is currently a lot of talk about NFTs: for example, the game company Animoca Brands wants to build a K-pop music metaverse with the South Korean music label Cube Entertainment, in which NTFs can then also be purchased. K-pop label Hybe is currently working with Dunamu to explore NTF territory.
