Three new managing directors for Polyas

With Daniela Heipel, Patricia Schwan and Jan Wegner, the voting company is expanding its management team.
The founder and CEO of the start-up Polyas, Kai Reinhard, is bringing three more colleagues into the company's top management: Daniela Heipel, Patricia Schwan and Jan Wegner. The company is based in Berlin, Kassel and Switzerland and specializes in digital elections and voting.
Daniela Heipel has been Head of Election Management at Polyas for around a year. As part of the management team, she is responsible for tenders and project management. Until 2016, she worked as a portfolio manager at the GFA Consulting Group in Hamburg. She then moved to Polyas' sister company Micromata. Here she was responsible for business development and IT project management.
Patricia Schwan has been a Polyas employee for even longer. As Managing Director at the Berlin office, she is responsible for strategic tasks in the areas of sales, marketing and sales planning. She became Head of Sales at Polyas in 2018. She previously worked for the software provider Brandwatch.
Like Heipel, Jan Wegner comes from Micromata. There he was responsible for his own business unit. He has been Head of Product since April 2021. He began his career at the K+S Group, where he held various positions in Germany and the USA for over ten years.
"The new leadership team brings together personal and professional strengths," says founder Reinhard. "I am particularly proud of the fact that we now have a 50% quota of women on the management board." The physicist founded the company in 2012. Previously, he had been co-managing director of the software company Micromata. Polyas then emerged from this company.
Polyas aims to simplify the organization and implementation of online elections - from the casting of votes to the counting of votes. The company claims to have already carried out tens of thousands of online elections, nominations and live votes. According to Polyas, its customers include over 100 universities, cooperative banks, clubs, associations and companies such as the Project Management Institute and Wikimedia. Political parties such as the CDU, SPD, FDP and the Greens are apparently also among its customers.
