eleQtron secures 57 million euros Series A
The German deep-tech scale-up eleQtron has closed a Series A financing round of 57 million euros. The round is one of the largest Series A financings in the global quantum computing sector and underlines the increasing momentum in the commercialization of this key technology.
Broad investor consortium with a strong industry focus
The lead investor is Schwarz Digits, the digital division of the Schwarz Group. Other key investors include the EIC Fund and existing investors such as Earlybird. New investors such as Ankaa Ventures, laser specialist Precitec and public development banks such as NRW.Bank and IFB Hamburg are also participating. The financing also includes subsidies.
Even before the financing round is completed, eleQtron already has an order volume of more than 54 million euros. This makes the company one of the few providers in the quantum computing sector with significant commercial traction.
Focus on scaling, cloud access and hardware
The fresh capital will flow specifically into three key areas:
- Building scalable production capacity
- Development of cloud-based access to quantum computers
- Further development of the hardware platform
The focus is on the proprietary MAGIC (Magnetic Gradient Induced Coupling) technology, which enables precise control of ion trap systems and is considered the key to scaling.
Quantum computing on the way to industrial infrastructure
Founded in 2020, the company is positioned at the interface between research and industrial application. The aim is to develop quantum computing from an experimental technology into a productive infrastructure.
With this funding, we are accelerating this transition and building systems that will solve real problems for industrial customers.
Jan Henrik Leisse, CEO and co-founder of eleQtron
CEO Jan Henrik Leisse sees the industry at a turning point. Quantum computing is increasingly developing into a technology that can solve specific industrial problems.
Strategic importance for Europe
From an investor's perspective, the technology also plays a central role in Europe's digital sovereignty. Representatives of Schwarz Digits emphasize the importance of independent, secure IT infrastructures in key technologies such as the cloud, AI and, in future, quantum computing. With the financing, eleQtron aims to strengthen its position as a European provider in the global competition and significantly accelerate the commercialization of its systems.
