Etribes buys Pacemakers Digital Ventures

Founded in 2019, sold in 2021: This is the balance sheet of the Berlin-based start-up Pacemakers Digital Ventures. All three founders remain on board.

Only two years old, Pacemakers Digital Ventures (PMDV) has now been sold: Etribes has acquired the company for a seven-figure sum. The founders are going along to help Etribes further develop the digital consultancy.

About the collaboration, Peter Henssen, one of the three founders of PMDV, says: "Today, new business models have to be thought digitally first. This requires an entrepreneurial spirit that unites the Etribes team and us. Continuing our work together is therefore a logical step to build tomorrow's market leaders together."

PMDV says it helps companies develop new business areas with a focus on digital functionality and implementation. To do this, PMDV works with consultancies, and the start-up has advised clients such as Henkel and Coca-Cola. "With PMDV's team, we are gaining proven experts in corporate venture building, which will further fuel our growth ambitions," says Fabian J. Fischer, CEO of Etribes.

Founded in 2015, Etribes employs 100 people in Hamburg and designs digital business models in the B2B and B2C sectors. The acquisition of PMDV is the second in 2021 and it should not remain the last: "We are the first address for digital business and help when revenue generators are to be built from digital strategies. We can only do justice to this if we constantly expand our service portfolio in all conceivable ways," says Fischer about the further strategy. The plan is to deploy many cross-functional teams to support the digitization of companies driven by the Corona pandemic.
