Etribes buys Pacemakers Digital Ventures

Founded in 2019, sold in 2021: This is the balance sheet of the Berlin start-up Pacemakers Digital Ventures. All three founders remain on board.

Pacemakers Digital Ventures (PMDV) is only two years old and the start-up has now been sold: Etribes has acquired the company for a seven-figure sum. The founders are going along and will support Etribes in the further development of the digital consultancy.

Peter Henssen, one of the three founders of PMDV, says of the collaboration: "Today, new business models have to be thought of as digital first. This requires an entrepreneurial spirit that unites the Etribes team and us. Continuing our work together is therefore a logical step towards building the market leaders of tomorrow together."

According to PMDV, it helps companies to develop new business areas with a focus on digital functionality and implementation. To this end, PMDV works together with consulting firms; the start-up has already advised clients such as Henkel and Coca-Cola. "With the PMDV team, we are gaining proven experts in corporate venture building, which will further boost our growth ambitions," says Fabian J. Fischer, CEO of Etribes.

Founded in 2015, Etribes employs 100 people in Hamburg and designs digital business models in the B2B and B2C sectors. The acquisition of PMDV is the second in 2021 and it will not be the last: "We are the first port of call for digital business and help when digital strategies need to be turned into revenue generators. We can only do this if we continuously expand our service portfolio in every conceivable way," says Fischer about the future strategy. The plan is to deploy many cross-functional teams to support the digitalization of companies driven by the coronavirus pandemic.
