Exclusive: Nebenan.de expands management team

Philipp Witzmann becomes the third managing director of the neighborhood network.

Philipp Witzmann became the third member of the management team at nebenan.de on October 1st. Startbase was informed of this in advance. The 40-year-old previously worked as CCO for the online neighborhood network, which claims to have around 2.5 million users. He joins the previous managing directors Ina Remmers and Till Behnke. Witzmann's area of responsibility is the operational business. His task is to lead the start-up to break even.

As CCO, he was previously responsible for the commercial area of the company. He has been working for nebenan.de, which was founded in 2015, since 2020. Witzmann previously worked at Wayfair and Vodafone, among others. While Ina Remmers will continue to take care of the brand and corporate communications, Till Behnke will focus on public affairs and internationalization in the future.

Nebenan.de is open to verified neighbors, non-profit organizations, municipalities and local businesses. All these stakeholders should be able to network and exchange ideas there. Witzmann now wants to put this social mission to commercial use: "I can help build a unique business model at nebenan.de and am firmly convinced of the platform's economic potential," he says.
