Sean Eckard becomes head of the luxury garage start-up. The previous CEO Max Knüppel remains with the company.

The luxury garage company Fahrengold has a new CEO. Sean Eckard from the USA is joining the Berlin-based start-up. He previously worked at robot manufacturer Starship Technologies and most recently at motorcycle helmet manufacturer Forcite, both of which are based in Silicon Valley. However, Eckard already has connections to Germany. He worked in Baden-Württemberg for four years, including at Bosch in Stuttgart.

Fahrengold justifies the change at the top with a strategic orientation. "As the USA is becoming one of our core markets, it only makes sense for Sean, as an American, to build up Fahrengold there", according to a statement quoted by Gründerszene. The previous CEO Max Knüppel will remain with the start-up and become "Managing Director for Global Sales".

Fahrengold was founded in 2018 by Nikita Fahrenholz, the co-founder of Delivery Hero. The start-up produces luxury garages, some of which are reminiscent of showcases for luxury cars. The minimum price is 100,000 euros.
