Fahrengold brings in CEO from Silicon Valley

Sean Eckard becomes chief executive of luxury garage startup. The previous CEO Max Knüppel remains with the company.

The luxury garage company Fahrengold has a new CEO. The US-American Sean Eckard joins the Berlin-based start-up. He previously worked at robotics manufacturer Starship Technologies, among others, and most recently at motorcycle helmet manufacturer Forcite, both of which are based in Silicon Valley. Eckard, however, already has ties to Germany. For four years, he was employed in Baden-Württemberg, including at Bosch in Stuttgart.

Fahrengold justifies the change at the top with a strategic orientation. "Since the U.S. is becoming one of our core markets, it only makes sense that Sean, as an American, builds Fahrengold there," reads a statement quoted by Gründerszene. Current CEO Max Knüppel will stay with the startup and become "managing director for global sales."

Fahrengold was founded in 2018 by Delivery Hero co-founder Nikita Fahrenholz. The startup makes luxury garages, some of which resemble showcases for luxury cars. The beMinimum price is 100,000 euros.
