Fiege acquires a stake in Sennder

The family-owned company Fiege invests in the start-up Sennder. The aim is to digitize the logistics industry.
The Berlin-based start-up Sennder raised 80 million euros in a financing round in June. Now the Greven-based family business Fiege has also invested. "Together, we will introduce innovative solutions for the logistics industry and simultaneously underpin our respective growth trajectories", says David Nothacker, co-founder and Managing Director of Sennder about the collaboration with Fiege.
For Fiege, the investment in Sennder is a further step towards digitalizing and expanding its own transport offering. In the end, it is primarily the customers who should benefit, says Managing Director Felix Fiege. "This is why it is about more than just a classic financial investment, it is primarily about a strategic partnership from which both sides will benefit", says Fiege.
Sennder offers a platform on which shippers can connect with freight forwarders. Founded in 2015, the start-up manages over 12,500 trucks across Europe and has more than 900 employees. The logistics company is now considered a unicorn - it is worth over one billion euros. In addition to Fiege, big names such as Baillie Gifford, Accel, Lakestar, HV Capital, Project A, Next47, Scania Growth Capital, Earlybird and Perpetual are also investing in Sennder.
