Mympact launches in Germany and Austria

Users should use the app to improve their personal environmental footprint. To do this, the app links to the bank account.
The "mympact" app from the Zurich and Berlin-based start-up of the same name has been available in the app and Ios stores since January 2023. The app provides information about your individual carbon footprint by linking it to your bank account. The program analyzes personal spending. The app then provides users with suggestions for more sustainable consumption alternatives.
Mympact was founded in 2021 by alumni of the University of St.Gallen and aims to combine real-time CO2 tracking, open banking and a community approach. The app features over 200 sustainable brands and companies from all areas of life that can be displayed as alternatives. For these brands - such as Everdrop, Toogoodtogo or Avocadostore - the app provides a new sales channel to reach a climate-conscious target group. Users can network and are motivated to reduce their own footprint through playful elements.
In a first financing round, mympact raised 500,000 euros from business angels and the global fintech incubator F10. "The approach of other providers of simply offsetting the carbon footprint caused by consumption for a monthly fee doesn't go far enough," says CEO and founder Christian Sutter. "It is more important that we as individuals contribute to reducing greenhouse gases ourselves."
