The software company was able to win a million-dollar investment for the further development of AI-based transport options.

Back in October 2021, the Munich-based start-up Smartlane was able to convince the jury of the European innovation funding program EIC Accelerator and received funding in the amount of 1.7 million. Now JOVA Direkt Invest has also invested with 4.5 million euros.

Smartlane was founded in 2015 and is based in Munich. The startup has developed Smartlane Transport Intelligence, an AI-based software for transport optimization in the logistics industry. The self-learning technology is said to enable a reduction in dispatching effort, operating costs and CO2 emissions.

"Our solution reduces shipping efforts by up to 90% while immensely increasing the reliability and precision of the scheduling process. This means that the growing volume of shipments can be handled more efficiently, even in times of scarce resources," explains Monja Mühling, co-founder and CEO. With the new capital, Smartlane plans to double the size of the team.
