Game hosting provider Nitrado has new majority owner

The private equity fund FLEX Capital acquires the majority of shares.
Berlin-based FLEX Capital is acquiring a majority stake in Nitrado, a game hosting provider from Karlsruhe. The acquisition is intended to expand the B2B business and drive internationalization. Nitrado is part of Marbis and offers servers for computer games. The company operates eight data centers on four continents and employs 74 people. Founded in 2001, the company has a turnover of more than 20 million euros. "The charisma of the Nitrado brand in the gaming community, the innovative software solutions, coupled with the entrepreneurial achievement of becoming a global tech champion under its own steam, impressed us right from the start," says Peter Waleczek, Managing Partner at FLEX Capital. "This corporate DNA is a perfect fit for FLEX. Together with the management, we now want to consistently continue on this growth path."
"We are delighted to have gained a strong partner in FLEX Capital, which can support us with its diverse entrepreneurial experience," says Nitrado CEO Marcel Bößendörfer. "In recent years, we have laid a good foundation on which we can build together. I am convinced that FLEX's expertise in the online and software segment is an important building block for us on this path." FLEX Capital has already invested in Brandsforfriends, Delivery Hero and Ladenzeile.de.
