Greenforce apparently raises 13 million euros

The foodtech offers vegan substitute products. It plans to use the capital to expand its product range, according to a media report.
Munich-based foodtech Greenforce raises 13 million euros, as Munich Startups reported. Investors include agricultural retailer Baywa and several private backers, according to the report. Among them are board members and representatives of Biontech and the former head of Germany at McDonald's, Holger Beeck.
"Greenforce has understood that in the highly competitive market it is precisely a matter of holding one's own in several categories in order not to be displaced by market giants," Beeck told Munich Startups. "The enormous growth within the young company's history speaks for itself." According to the company's own data, Greenforce is the fastest-growing brand in the meat alternative sector, with 52 percent absolute market share growth over the past twelve months.
Celebrities such as presenter Joko Winterscheidt and footballer Thomas Müller have also already invested in the company, which was founded in 2013. The latter can also be seen on some of the start-up's advertisements.
