Hawk AI Appoints Steve Liu as General Manager for the U.S.

The new General Manager is to further drive the Munich-based start-up's growth strategy in North America. Hawk AI sees the USA as a core market.

The software platform Hawk AI has made Steve Liu its General Manager for the USA. His job will be to drive the Munich-based startup's growth. The Silicon Valley veteran has more than 17 years of fintech experience and was already involved in building the U.S. business at technology company Feedzai as U.S. senior vice president of customer success.

Hawk AI has developed anti-money laundering monitoring technology. The platform transaction data from banks, financial service providers and fintechs. The startup says this is done in real time for billions of transactions annually in more than 60 countries worldwide. "Money laundering is one of the most important issues financial institutions will need to address in 2022. Increasing regulation combined with inadequate solutions can bring banks and fintechs to their knees," said Tobias Schweiger, CEO and co-founder of Hawk AI.

The startup sees the U.S. as a core market. According to the company, its customers include North American Bancard, for example, but also the Brazilian bank Banco do Brasil Americas.

Schweiger founded Hawk AI together with Wolfgang Berner in Munich in 2018. In June 2021, the company closed a Hawk AI closed a Series A financing of ten million U.S. dollars.
