Hawk AI appoints Steve Liu as General Manager for the USA

The new General Manager will continue to drive forward the Munich-based start-up's growth strategy in North America. Hawk AI sees the USA as a core market.

The software platform Hawk AI has appointed Steve Liu as its General Manager for the USA. His task will be to drive the growth of the Munich-based start-up. The Silicon Valley veteran has more than 17 years of fintech experience and was already involved in the development of the US business at technology company Feedzai as US Senior Vice President of Customer Success.

Hawk AI has developed an anti-money laundering monitoring technology. The platform collects transaction data from banks, financial service providers and fintechs. According to the start-up, this happens in real time for billions of transactions every year in over 60 countries worldwide. "Money laundering is one of the most important issues that financial institutions will have to tackle in 2022. Increasing regulation combined with inadequate solutions can bring banks and fintechs to their knees," says Tobias Schweiger, CEO and co-founder of Hawk AI.

The start-up sees the USA as a core market. According to the company, its customers include North American Bancard as well as the Brazilian bank Banco do Brasil Americas.

Schweiger founded Hawk AI together with Wolfgang Berner in Munich in 2018. Hawk AIcompleted Series A financing in the amount of ten million US dollars.
