Helrom agrees 34.5 million euros in loan financing

Helrom has successfully closed a loan financing with Societe Generale and DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing to underline its growth and role in the decarbonization of rail freight supply chains.

Helrom, a rail freight and technology company, successfully closed a €34.5 million loan financing. Deutsche Leasing Finance and Société Générale each share half of the financing, which was structured by DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing. The transaction is designed as "asset based finance" and serves as a platform for Helrom's future financing initiatives.

With its "Net Zero Transport" mission, Helrom is a key customer for DAL for innovative asset finance solutions in the transport and logistics sector - a mission that also makes an important contribution to the transformation of transport.

Both financing partners bring extensive experience in the rail sector. Société Générale has expertise in the logistics sector, strengthening its collaboration with Helrom. DAL is a leading asset financier to the rail industry in Europe and is participating in the project with its innovative financing, underlining its commitment to sustainable technology and transport initiatives.

The loan financing will enable Helrom to further expand its transportation capacity. This strategic investment accelerates the company's mission to contribute to the modal shift in rail freight and decarbonize supply chains. It supports the company's goal to achieve net-zero transport and follows ESG principles.

Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport provided early support.

In February, Helrom already received €15 million in support from the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport for the market launch of the Helrom Trailer Wagon. The ministry's "Future of Rail Freight" program aims to promote technological innovations that have the potential to improve the economic efficiency, performance, flexibility and logistics capability of rail freight transport in Germany.
