Recap The Lion's Den - Episode 1 Season 15

In the first episode of the current season of "Die Höhle der Löwen", the startup FESCHD introduced itself. The company, consisting of Simon Josenhans, his wife Luisa Josenhans and their friend Mike Obermeier, presented an innovative cell phone holder for bicycles, which had already aroused great interest in advance. Their goal in the pitch was an investment of 80,000 euros in exchange for ten percent of the company shares. During the show, they received offers from Nils Glagau and Ralf Dümmel for 20% of the shares each. An open counter-offer of 15% was initially rejected until they finally agreed on 20% with Glagau. But as the Swabian saying goes, "after Feschd comes ab". After the broadcast, however, the deal was canceled, leaving the company without an investment. In the end, you couldn't feschde feschden at Feschd. (For non-Swabians: don't even ask...)

A second deal breaker in the first episode of "Die Höhle der Löwen" was provided by the start-up Casablanca from Pforzheim. Their focus was on AI-based software that would enable real authentic eye contact in video conferences to tackle a globally relevant problem. Carsten Maschmayer initially showed interest in an investment and struck at 7.5% + option for 10%, but at the end of the due diligence, they did not achieve the result they had hoped for. The valuation of the company remained debatable for us despite the hype surrounding artificial intelligence. The founders' goal of achieving unicorn status seems ambitious to us for a digital eye contact. The debate as to whether this goal is sporting or realistic remains open.

Otherwise, there were oat pancakes for small children, an organic toothpaste from South America and frozen ready-to-drink cocktails from a bottle.

The Lion's Den 2 - Episode from 15.4.2024 - Season 15

In the second episode of "Die Höhle der Löwen", Matthias Steiner and his wife Inge present their healthy low-carb products STEINER's, which have helped the former Olympic weightlifting champion to lose weight. With their offer of 300,000 euros for ten percent of the company shares, they are hoping for a deal. The investors are also focusing on products such as Pee & Bob, a mobile folding potty designed to make traveling with children easier, as well as innovative ideas such as the multifunctional MULTIBEX assembly trestle system and the digital tip and donation manager YoYo.TIPS.

1. STEINER 's Matthias Steiner and Inge offer healthy low-carb products with STEINER's, which are designed to help people lose weight and were developed by Matthias Steiner himself after he lost 45 kilos without dieting.
2. Pee & Bob Anna Wirsching presents Pee & Bob, a mobile folding potty for children that solves the toilet problem on trips and excursions by being light, stable and easy to use.
3. KitchBo Karolin Djukic, Darko Djukic and Nikola Natterer present KitchBo, a modular silicone baking mat that is suitable for various baking and cooking applications and has already achieved a considerable sales volume.
4. YoYo.TIPS Joachim Sedlmeir presents YoYo.TIPS, a digital tip and donation management system via QR code that enables service staff in various industries to receive tips easily and tax-free.
5. LACASCARA Lisah Dietrich and Constantin Müller offer LACASCARA, an aperitif made from coffee cherries that not only tastes great, but also generates additional income for coffee farms by making use of existing waste products.
6. MULTIBEX Sebastian Radeck presents MULTIBEX, a multifunctional assembly trestle system which, thanks to its stable and ergonomic design, makes it easier to work on manual tasks and offers a wide range of applications.
