Healthcare start-up Idana secures growth capital. The financing will enable the expansion of the software for digital patient admission.
Freiburg, March 20, 2025 - Freiburg-based healthtech Idana has closed a Series A financing round in the multi-million euro range without venture capital. The funds will be used for the further development of the software for digital patient management, scaling and the expansion of support for medical practices.
Investments in product development and customer support
With the new financial resources, Idana:
- Double its technical department to further develop the software
- Significantly expand customer support to better accompany doctors
- Acquire new practices for digital patient management

Digitalization in the healthcare sector is accelerating
More and more medical practices are turning to digital solutions: While only 12% communicated digitally with patients in 2020, this figure had already risen to 44% by 2024. According to the KBV study PraxisBarometer Digitalisierung, demand continues to grow - clear evidence of Idana's market potential.
The funding comes at just the right time. The healthcare sector is finally picking up speed in terms of digitalization, and we are ready to provide optimal support to medical practices in this transitional phase.

Growth strategy: 70 % annually
Idana is planning annual growth of 70% to enable medical practices across Germany to record patients more efficiently. By continuously optimizing its software and expanding its support, the company is becoming a key player in the digitalization of the healthcare sector.
Idana AG was founded in 2016 by doctors in Freiburg and successfully launched its first software Idana in 2019. The transformation from Tomes GmbH to Idana AG was completed in 2023. With their vision of enabling healthcare providers to provide optimal patient-centric care with high efficiency, they were early pioneers of digitalization in medicine. The software can be used to optimize routine processes in healthcare and make them more efficient. It is the most advanced solution for digital patient admission, both medically and technically.
