Indie Campers receives 35 million euros for global expansion

Indie Campers raises €35 million: road trips around the world just got easier - with more vehicles and new locations!
Lisbon, January 20, 2025 - Indie Campers, a provider of camper van rentals, has secured 35 million euros in a recent financing round. These funds will support the company's expansion into new markets and the improvement of its technological infrastructure. There are also plans to expand the global team, which currently comprises over 500 employees.
New locations in Europe, North America and Oceania
In the course of its twelve-year history, Indie Campers plans to open 12 new locations. The newly added cities include Düsseldorf, Palma, Nice, Athens, San Jose and Hobart. This further expands the company's global presence and reaffirms its goal of making road trips accessible to travelers worldwide.
Germany remains one of the most important markets for Indie Campers. With a new large depot in Düsseldorf and the expansion of the fleet to over 1,000 vehicles, the company is investing significantly in the location. At the same time, another location is being opened in Munich. The aim is to double turnover in Germany by the end of 2025 and the strong market position will be further consolidated through partnerships with leading manufacturers such as the Erwin Hymer Group and the Knaus Group.
In addition to expanding the locations, the capital injection will also be used to develop new services. The focus is on the hybrid platform, which combines the company's own fleet with a peer-to-peer marketplace. Indie Campers thus remains a pioneer in the segment of flexible road trip solutions.
