The cryptocurrency-focused investor is seeking backers for its second fund.

Bitcoin has been on the rise again recently, and with it, interest from traditional funders. "When it comes to crypto, many were extremely shy, but in recent months they are now coming out of the woodwork," Greenfield partner Sebastian Blum tells Finance Forward

. Berlin-based investment firm Greenfield One is now looking for backers for its second venture capital fund. After the first round, big names are already on board: Gütersloh-based Bertelsmann Investments and Lennertz & Co. have already invested.

Lennertz & Co. also already invested in the first fund of Greenfield One, which was only founded in 2018. At that time, the Berliners financed ten blockchain projects. Since then, more and more institutional investors also registered interest, says Blum. He expects "a huge impact" of blockchain technology in five to ten years.
