Laura Kauther becomes commercial director at Element

Kauther has already worked for Zurich Group and brings expertise in the insurance sector. She is expected to drive the expansion.

After Element brought in ex-Axa executive Astrid Stange in July, the insurtech is expanding its team once again: Laura Kauther is now Commercial Director at the young insurance company and will establish and expand selected markets in this position.

Kauther was most recently Chief Commercial Officer at SDA SE Open Industry Solutions, a platform and ecosystem developer. There, she was responsible for business development, marketing, sales and customer success management. Previously, she held a senior position at digital insurer Coya, which was acquired by French provider Luko earlier this year. She started her career at Zurich Group, where she held various positions for almost ten years. "With Laura Kauther, we have gained another insurance expert for ELEMENT," said Michael Bongartz, Chief Commercial Officer at Element. "Her diverse experience in digital transformation, platform technologies and embedded insurance is a great asset."

Element allows companies to offer their own property and casualty insurance. To do so, they can use the insurtech's insurance license. In July, the startup raised €21.4 million in a Series B funding round. Investors include Versorgungswerk Zahnärztekammer Berlin, Alma Mundi, Witan Group and Ilavska Vuillermoz Capital.
