Mondu strengthens its management team

The fintech appoints a new chief commercial officer and chief people officer.

B2B payments provider Mondu is strengthening its leadership team with Julian Kurz as its new chief commercial officer (CCO) and Lauren Hoehlein Joseph as chief people officer (CPO). Both are expected to further the international expansion of Mondu's team and products. The appointment comes shortly after a $43 million funding round announced by the fintech in May.

Julian Kurz joins Mondu after spending seven years at VMware, a software and cloud infrastructure company. Previously, he was a partner and managing director at The Boston Consulting Group in Germany and Sweden. In his new role at Mondu, he will lead the Commercial team, which includes Sales Management, Customer Success, Partner Management, and Strategy and Enablement.

Lauren Hoehlein Joseph served as VP of People at Grover prior to Mondu. There, she grew the people function from a local support team to a global organization. In her new role as CPO, Hoehlein Joseph is expected to be responsible for Talent Acquisition, Engagement and Development, and Platform and Business Partnering.

Philipp Povel, Malte Huffmann and Gil Danziger founded Mondu in August 2021, and the fintech has developed a "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) payment model for enterprise customers. This allows small and medium-sized businesses to pre-finance goods with other companies and pay for them later. To do this, merchants integrate the Mondu solution into their online checkout.
