Phaeosynt secures 1.7 million euros seed for market entry

With a successful financing round, Phaeosynt is ready for the next phase of growth. The biotech start-up focuses on vegan antibody technology for sustainable diagnostics.

Hanover, February 12, 2025 - The Hanover-based biotech startup Phaeosynt has successfully completed a seed capital increase of 1.7 million euros. The company intends to use the fresh capital to drive forward the market launch of its vegan pregnancy test hey mela. In addition to existing investors, Phaeosynt was also able to attract new investors for its sustainable diagnostics solution.

Investors focus on sustainability

The financing round was supported by a number of well-known investors. In addition to existing investors from the pre-seed round, Phaeosynt was able to attract PSD Braunschweig Verwaltungs-GmbH, NBank Capital Beteiligungsgesellschaft, Fonde Ventures and several private investors, among others.

Market entry planned for summer 2025

The capital will be invested specifically in production, scaling and expanding the team. Following successful CE certification, hey mela is set to be launched on the market in summer 2025. The pregnancy test is based on vegan antibody technology and therefore offers a sustainable alternative to conventional tests. "Our goal is to offer a reliable, ethical and sustainable option in diagnostics," emphasizes Pfeil-Coenen.
