SAEKI secures 6.7 million US dollars for the automation of high-volume production

SAEKI aims to accelerate procurement with its instant quoting platform and hybrid manufacturing

Zurich, February 5, 2025 - Swiss startup SAEKI has closed $6.7 million in seed funding to revolutionize industrial manufacturing through automation and hybrid production processes. The funding round was led by Lightbird, with participation from Founderful, 2100VC, Danobat and several business angels.

SAEKI's approach combines additive manufacturing (3D printing) with precision CNC machining in an end-to-end production process. This technology is designed to speed up and reduce the cost of manufacturing large, complex components in industries such as aerospace, automotive and construction.

Automation in response to increasing production demands

As AI-powered design software becomes more powerful, traditional manufacturing methods are reaching their limits. Engineers can design complex components, but their implementation often fails due to slow, cost-intensive manufacturing processes. SAEKI addresses this issue with an end-to-end automated production approach that integrates the entire process - from instant quotation to quality inspection.

A key element is the introduction of an instant online estimating tool that allows customers to upload designs, define requirements and receive a quote in real time. This process reduces the usual quotation time of several days to a few minutes and speeds up the entire production chain.

Strengthening European manufacturing and securing supply chains

In addition to increasing efficiency, SAEKI aims to strengthen European production capacities. The increasing dependence on international suppliers has made the industry vulnerable to delays and cost increases in recent years. SAEKI offers a solution to relocate critical manufacturing processes back to Europe, optimize material usage and reduce waste.

Growing demand from industry and construction

Demand for SAEKI's technology is high. A leading Swiss construction company confirmed that its formwork systems alone would require three to four SAEKI production facilities to meet demand. A global automotive manufacturer was able to reduce its production time by two weeks with SAEKI's 3D printed tools - a significant improvement compared to traditional manufacturing methods.
