The money comes from Bayern Kapital, among others. The start-up is developing a 3D scanner in cell phone format. Market entry is now imminent.

The Augsburg-based high-tech start-up Scoobe3D has raised another mid-six-figure sum in a seed extension financing round. All existing investors, including Bayern Kapital, the VC company of the Free State of Bavaria, have increased their investments. The money also comes from the management of the start-up and Rolf Pfeiffer is acting as a business angel.

Scoobe3D has developed a 3D scanner the size of a smartphone. The start-up promises that the scan is as simple as taking a panoramic photo on a smartphone. Until now, large devices were required for such scans. Scoobe3D has patented the technology. Among other things, shiny and reflective surfaces can also be located with an accuracy of 0.1 millimetres. The 3D scan is primarily intended for use in mechanical engineering and construction.

The start-up was founded in 2018 and completed a seed round last year. Scoobe3D wants to use the money to accelerate its market launch and develop new products and software solutions. "We are already receiving inquiries from a wide range of industries. The applications for 3D scans are very diverse and the demand is huge," says Julian Berlow, Managing Director of Scoobe3D.
