The Series B financing round of the Offenburg-based company is led by a US investor. The money is to flow into the product range, the service and the personnel.

SaaS start-up SevDesk has closed its Series B round, raising €50 million. US investor Arena Holdings leads the round. Also new to the round is Carsten Thoma, founder of e-commerce start-up Hybris, which he once sold to SAP. Existing investors such as LEA Partners, Global Founders Capital and family office Wecken & Cie are also participating in the round.

"With the new lead investors, we are bringing strong partners to our side for the future. We are proud to have won these tech specialists for us to take the next growth step with them," said SevDesk CEO Fabian Silberer. The company plans to use the money to expand its product portfolio as well as its service offering, and it also plans to hire more staff.

SevDesk offers cloud-based accounting software aimed primarily at the self-employed, freelancers and small business owners. The Offenburg-based start-up, founded in 2014, now has 165 employees.
