The cybersecurity start-up thus successfully closes its Series B financing round. Most recently, the company had tripled its headcount.

Cybersecurity startup Sosafe has successfully closed its current $73 million funding round. Leading the round were Highland Europe, Acton Capital and Global Founders Capital (GFC). New additions include Carsten Thoma, who is also on the advisory board at Celonis, La Famiglia and Adjust founder Christian Henschel.

Founded in 2018, the startup focuses on building security cultures. To do so, it simulates cyberattacks to sensitize employees to the issue and teach them the right way to behave in such a situation. It was founded by Niklas Hellemann, Lukas Schaefer and Felix Schuerholz in Cologne. According to the start-up, it now has 1,500 customers worldwide and is the European leader in the field of security awareness. According to the start-up, its customers include Aldi, Ceonomy AG, Taylor Wessing, Vattenfall and Valtech.

With the capital it has now raised, the startup plans to expand its own presence and double its team to 500 employees. Most recently, it has already tripled the number of employees to 250. Founder Niklas Hellemann says, "We will now further expand our international presence and build on our position as a leading platform for second-generation security awareness and human risk management, deeply rooted in behavioral science."

Commenting on the investment, Gajan Rajanathan, Partner at Highland Europe, said, "The company has quickly become one of the leading software scale-ups and has experienced incredible momentum in a short period of time. We have no doubt that as Sosafe expands its product and market vision, it will join the ranks of the newest global leaders."
