Hamburg, August 13, 2024 - Cologne-based early-stage investor STS Ventures has invested a seven-figure sum in Hamburg-based software startup GIPEDO. GIPEDO develops SaaS solutions that support professional sports teams in the digitalization and automation of pre- and after-sales processes. The investment will help GIPEDO to strengthen its market position and further accelerate product development.

GIPEDO has already won over 60 professional teams in Germany as customers, including Bayer 04 Leverkusen and TSG Hoffenheim. GIPEDO's SaaS platform enables sports clubs to make their processes more efficient and expand their marketing potential.

Things to know about GPEDO
The Hamburg-based tech startup GIPEDO was founded in January 2022 by Lars Gantenberg and Dr. Matthias Rettenmeier with the aim of supporting clubs, leagues and associations as valuable content publishers in professional sports. GIPEDO started with the GIPEDO Marketplace and TV perimeter advertising in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga and has since significantly expanded its platform. The GIPEDO platform combines three key aspects of sports marketing: the automated trading of advertising campaigns, the provision of relevant data and KPIs for marketing decisions and the organization of media inventory through SaaS solutions. This technology enables sports clubs and leagues to efficiently manage their media advertising inventory and offer new advertisers flexible access to the emotional world of sports. GIPEDO thus facilitates the handling of advertising partnerships and helps clubs to retain control of their advertising business.
Lars Gantenberg brings extensive experience from sports marketing and the soccer portal Transfermarkt, where he was Managing Director. Dr. Matthias Rettenmeier, who has been developing data-driven software products for over 15 years, contributes his expertise from his time at Metrigo and Zalando ZMS to realize the vision of GIPEDO.
