Berlin-based AI startup traide AI has closed a significant seven-figure funding round. The funds will be used to further develop the AI-powered SaaS solution that helps companies automate their customs processes.

Berlin - AI startup traide recently closed a significant seven-figure funding round. The main investor is High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), accompanied by Smart Infrastructure Ventures, Prequel Ventures as well as respected angel investors such as the founders of Taxdoo and Byrd. This injection of funds will be used to drive the development and scaling of the AI-powered SaaS solution that helps companies of all sizes and industries automate their customs processes.

With the support of our investors, we will be able to further develop our platform and provide companies with a more efficient and reliable way to meet their customs obligations

Leonie Althaus, CEO and Co-Founder traide

traide's innovation is creating new momentum in the field of customs compliance. Although this market has received less attention so far, over 720,000 companies in Germany are affected by customs regulations. The manual processing of customs formalities, which has been common practice up to now, often harbors sources of error, causes bureaucratic effort and financial losses for companies. This not only hinders the smooth and economic scaling of these processes, but can also lead to significant competitive disadvantages in international trade.

The B2B SaaS platform from traide impressively demonstrates the potential of AI for the previously massively under-digitized customs sector, which also suffers from a major shortage of skilled workers.

Dr. Maurice Kügler, Senior Investment Manager HTGF

Founded in 2021, traide aims to optimize customs processes and make international trade more efficient and secure for companies. Their SaaS platform leverages the globally established customs tariff and uses advanced AI models to translate companies' specific product information into required customs data. This creates the ability to create automated and error-free customs declarations that were previously handled manually.

The start-up's origins lie in Code University's incubator program, and its first premises were located at Factory Berlin. In this inspiring environment, the founding team - consisting of Leonie Althaus, Philipp Friebertshäuser and Hendrik Niemann - was able to benefit from a valuable network, mentoring and the support of initial business angels.

Even before the current investment boost, the traide team was able to win well-known customers and partners who are successfully using the software. With the fresh funds from this financing round, the company now intends to further develop its technology and specifically drive market entry.
