Survey: German start-ups expect growth

37% of the start-ups surveyed also want to expand abroad in the course of the year. However, one major concern remains.
Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and supply bottlenecks, 68% of German start-ups expect company growth in 2022, according to a survey of 500 start-ups commissioned by the freelance platform Fiverr. According to the survey, working from home will also remain an issue in 2022: 45% of the start-ups surveyed want to continue working from home or in hybrid working models.
The majority of German start-ups are also planning to expand abroad. Of 78% of all start-ups that want to expand beyond Germany, 37% of the companies surveyed even want to implement their plans this year.
However, just under a third of founders fear that they will not be able to find enough qualified staff in the current competitive situation. As a result, more and more start-ups are considering working with freelancers: 46% of those surveyed plan to spend between 40% and 80% of their personnel budget on freelancers this year, according to the Fiverr survey. Fiverr itself is a platform for freelancers.
Fiverr commissioned the market research company Censuswide to conduct the survey. 500 German founders from various sectors and federal states took part in the survey.
