The HR start-up has apparently doubled its turnover every year in recent years, defying the coronavirus crisis.

According to the Leipzig-based HR start-up Whyapply, it has doubled its turnover every year since it was founded. The company writes this in a blog post on the occasion of its fifth anniversary.

Marketing Manager Maria Fritzsch writes: "Despite the coronavirus-related hiring freezes that have been imposed in many companies, we have been able to double our turnover every year." However, the company did not reveal how high the start-up's turnover currently is.

Whyapply was founded in 2017 by Michael Benz and Ronald Scholz. According to the team, they started out in a co-working space in Leipzig, from which they quickly outgrew. The start-up now has its own offices and claims to have 200 companies and 17 million employees as customers. These officially include BMW, Hermes and Freenet.

The company offers job-related content as well as job advertisements from employers and opportunities to try out jobs. Employees interested in changing jobs can take tests lasting around half an hour, which the employers have previously set. This is initially done anonymously. If there is then a match on both sides, employees and employers would find each other.
