Windeln.de must file for insolvency

The company had been negotiating with investors about a capital increase. The talks failed. Now it is planning to file for insolvency.
The baby supplies online store Windeln.de is insolvent. The company announced this on Friday in a financial announcement for its investors. There is no longer a positive prognosis for the company's continued existence.
In July, a planned capital increase had fallen through. Windeln.de wanted to collect up to 5.5 million euros. Two investors had committed themselves to buying further shares, but no longer provided any new funding. As a result, Windeln.de cancelled the capital increase completely and looked for new investors - unsuccessfully. "However, due to the failure of the negotiations, the Management Board now assumes that there is no longer a sufficient probability that the company's additional financial requirements can be covered by investors," the company wrote in its statement.
Five years after its founding, Windeln.de had successfully gone public in 2015. At the end of 2017, the company's shares were still worth around 150 euros. Since then, the price has fallen continuously. In the meantime, the value of the share is only 22 cents.
